Welcome to the Cascades Chalet, presented by Mountain Vacation Lodging. Available for rental beginning in December 2022, this large home is an architectural gem with an incredible setting and location that is considered ski in ski out. The Cascades chairlift glides over and past the heated driveway on its way up the ski mountain. Gore Creek flows right past the back yard, which is a private wooded oasis with terraced deck and patio areas and multiple water features to complement Gore Creek itself. The home itself is offers a plentiful supply of space for you and your group, whether you are ready to gather everyone together or need to find some quiet space for a bit. The Cascades Chalet features 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a kitchen plus a kitchenette, a wet bar off the dining room, and a private office. 30 foot high ceilings create great acoustics and a very spacious feel in the living and dining rooms. The kitchen has professional quality appliances, solid stone counters, plenty of cabinet space, as well as a secondary dining table and access to the deck. The primary bedroom suite is massive while the other 3 bedroom bedroom suites feature beautiful, thoughtful, and recent renovations to their private bathrooms.The location is great in winter or any season. In spring summer, or fall, you can easily walk or bike to the Gore Creek trail for non-motorized access into Lionshead and Vail Village. In winter, ski in ski out access is possible with a short walk. Total distance between your door and the Cascade Way ski trail is about 250 meters. Start with 53 foot steps up the heated driveway, then 85 foot steps from the driveway to a gate which is designed to block cars from making this road a short cut, but the gate does allow people to walk or ski past. Conditions permitting, you can put on your skis here and ski down the gentle grade along the road, a distance of about 175 meters from the gate down to the groomed "Cascade Way" ski trail, which leads across the creek and directly to the Cascades Chair loading area. (In the summer, this is where you pick up the Gore Creek Trail.) To ski home, follow the "Simba" ski trail to "Cascade Way". As you ski down and see Gore Creek, simply veer left off the groomed ski trail to "cut the corner." Doing this will allow you to ski either right back to the home, or within 100 meters of it. You'll see ski tracks from other people doing the same thing. If you don't "cut the corner," don't worry! Remember, it's only about 250 meters from the ski trail back to your door! **Please note, this is a Pet Free home. Service Animals and Pets are not allowed. See details at the bottom of this description.

– Transportation: The free Vail bus system picks up only .5 miles from the home at the Cascade Village stop. This bus can take guests throughout the Vail area.
-- Views: Gore Creek, mature aspen and evergreen trees, and of course, the Cascade Chairlift.
Arrival, Access, and Parking:
– Accessing the property: From the driveway to the entry for the home there are zero stairs. Once inside, stairs are required. The home does have an elevator. However, it is deliberately not operational.
– Parking: There is parking for up to 4 cars. 2 spaces are within the heated garage, with spaces for 2 more in the driveway. Trailers are not allowed, will not fit anywhere onsite, and street parking is prohibited by the Town of Vail . If you need additional parking options, please contact us for more information
– 4WD vehicle information: The driveway is heated and most snow will melt right off of it. However, roads leading to and from the home are not heated. 4WD / AWD or vehicles with chains may be required to access this property when traveling during snow and winter weather conditions

** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on. If you are booking for a lengthy stay, please contact us before booking online to discuss your group, your dates, the rates, the cleaning schedule, etc.
** Security Camera Disclosure - Please note that security cameras do exist at the property. Cameras are positioned to cover entrances and exits of the home, including the interior of any garage spaces. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not bother booking the property.
