In fact, this 2-Bedroom condo sleeps 6 in beds without anyone sleeping in the living room! Since purchasing this property, the owner has consistently invested both time and money improving and maintaining the property, so you'll appreciate the condo's quality, which is consistently high throughout. The bedrooms are a good size and have bedding that is flexible, sure to work for any group of up to 6. The kitchen, dining, and living room are all one large open space which makes spending relaxing quality time together easy after a day full of exploration. The location is ideal as well. The entire base area is within easy walking distance, and there are many attractions and activities to enjoy in both winter and summer seasons. From your private, heated garage, you go up one flight of indoor stairs to enter the unit, but once inside, the entire condo is one one level, and you have a ground level patio out back. In fact, from this ground level patio, you can very easily access the clubhouse, the pool and hot tubs, the BBQ grills, and more. There is a nice relatively flat yard that has plenty of space for yard games, building snowmen or other fun. Back inside, the open concept layout is really nice. The living room sports a large leather sectional sofa which surrounds the natural rock fireplace and the entertainment center. It's a gas fireplace that is thermostat controlled, so you can set it to your desired temperature, then sit back and enjoy the warmth. The TV is a large HDTV, and it is big enough to be enjoyed all the way from the kitchen or dining areas. The kitchen is fully equipped. You'll find everything you need and more. It also features solid slab granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen's peninsula gives you plenty of counter space and accommodates 4 barstools. Keep your chef company, set up your laptop, or serve food buffet style. The dining room has a table for 6 that is big enough for you to enjoy meals or games without bumping elbows. The main living area also includes a functional entry nook with a bench, coat racks, and closet, ideal for shedding your gear when you come home. Of course you have that ground level garage which provides a lot of heated storage too, perfect for bikes, skis, & snowboards.
The condo has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom is big enough to easily accommodate a King bed. This bedroom has a private bathroom that has been completely updated with granite counters, new fixtures and lighting, new tile, the works! The second bedroom is also quite a nice size. It has a Queen and 2 Twins. The 2 Twins are a trundle bed. One tucks neatly away underneath the other, so if you are not using it, or when you're not using it, you'll have a lot of extra floor space. The bed which tucks away underneath the other is made up for you, and ready to roll out and pop up to regular height when it's time to go to sleep. Also, both bedrooms have wall mounted HDTVs, mirrored closets, and sunset views. The beds, linens, and furniture have a consistently high quality. You won't see any wires hanging down from those wall mounted TVs. This owner really has the place dialed in!
Let's talk about amenities. There is a year round front desk in the clubhouse, and in ski season you'll have a free private shuttle service to chauffeur you around town. The seasonal pool is heated to a comfortable temperature in winter as well as summer, plus there are two large hot tubs. The pool and hot tubs are typically closed for cleaning and maintenance from the middle of April until late May, and from sometime in late September or October until late November. Check with us before booking if you are visiting during these times and wonder if you'll be able to use these amenities. The clubhouse next to the pool is open year round. This air conditioned space has 3 levels to enjoy. The top floor includes restrooms, meeting space with AV equipment and a fitness center that is small but very functional. The middle level has the access to the pool & hot tub area, plus the BBQ area, which has 2 grills, and multiple outdoor picnic areas. Back inside, there's a wet bar with ice machine, multiple dining or game tables, and multiple lounge areas, including one with a fireplace and one with an HDTV and surround sound. Oh and there is another set of restrooms on the middle level. Heading downstairs, the lower level of the clubhouse opens to the lower phase of the development, so you'll come through here if you have friends staying one of the lower phase condos, or if you park in the lower phase parking lot. The lower level of the clubhouse s where you'll find some attractive features. There is a lounge area with a pool table, a nook with coffee, tea, newspapers, and other goodies, a business center, 2 more lounge areas, the front desk, management offices, and yet another set of restrooms. One amenity that is almost taken for granted these days is free wifi. It may be a standard amenity at most rental properties, but here you have an in unit wireless modem that delivers a fast, strong signal capable of handling today's demands for streaming and downloading, or even uploading. Whether you need to access media for fun or work, you'll be all set. It is also worth noting that the clubhouse is literally right next door to this condo. Walk out your patio door, and about 10 steps later, you're walking into the clubhouse, hopping into the pool or hot tub, or tossing a steak onto the grill. The clubhouse can provide you with a lot of extra living space. From your patio, you'll be entering the clubhouse on it's middle level.

So, you might choose to take a dip in the pool, relax in the clubhouse, or make take a hike or gondola ride to higher elevations and cooler temperatures.
Finally, let's talk about one of the best features - the location!! Not only is the condo an ideal location within the development, but the development has an ideal location of its own! Walking to the Gondola, Christie Peak Express, ski school, or anything else in the base area is very easy. The Phoenix at Steamboat is virtually ski in ski out. The developments right across the street sit right on the "Stampede" ski trail, but will cost you a pretty penny. The Phoenix is affordable by comparison, but just as convenient. Families with small kids will love how close they are to the ski school, the ticket office, the Gondola, ski rental shops, and "The Outlaw" mountain coaster, which is open in summer and winter seasons. The ski school, ticket office, and gondola are only about 150-200 yards away, so you have a very short walk to get your ski day started. When you're coming home, you can ski right past the Gondola and right down to Apres Ski Way, conditions permitting. This puts you only about 50 yards from your door, which is considered ski in access by most! So you're getting ski in walk out access to the slopes, a convenience that is hard to beat for a ski vacation, especially when the weather or someone's mood takes a turn for the worse. You can easily come home for a break, some cocoa, lunch, or just to change your clothes to match the changing weather. Beyond ski slope and lift access, there is a lot more to like about this location. This development has a prime location! The Phoenix at Steamboat is right next door to ski & snowboard rentals, coffee and breakfast shops, lunch and dinner restaurants, a small grocery/deli/liquor/wine store, plus a Bavarian style beer hall with over 50 brews on tap. Gondola Square is a great place to be right next to. It has a massive stage & plays host to movie nights, free concerts, art shows, hot air balloon glows, ski and bike races, and more.
The base area is even more kid friendly during summer than during ski season. When all the snow melts, Burgess Creek flows through the area, but the water level is controlled to be at a flow level that is ideal for kids to splash around. There are even a couple of "beaches" along the creek. There are also tons of activities. There's a mini golf course, a high ropes course, a 4 story rock climbing wall, summer tubing, and other attractions. Don't forget, the ski area sits on national forest. So your condo is literally right next to a national forest trailhead. You can hike or bike from your door! You can also ride up the Gondola for food, beverages, amazing views, sunsets, or to hike and bike around to the highest parts of the ski area with a 2000 vertical foot head start! This area is also connected to other trails too. The Mountain Sneak trail, Mt. Werner trail, and Burgess Creek trail all converge right next to The Phoenix. These paved trails are perfect for walking, strolling, and they connect with the Yampa River Core Trail, which leads to downtown Steamboat, the Emerald Mountain trail system, and beyond. The whole town is right out your door.
