High Elevation Dining in Vail

August in the mountains is beautiful — sunny days, lush green forests and breezy sunsets. There is no better setting for an unforgettable dining experience than the mountain itself, so if you haven’t been to one of the sunning restaurants located on Vail mountain you still have time. Both Gondola One and Eagle Bahn will be open until Labor Day Weekend for daily service, providing scenic transportation to the three mountain restaurants. Whether you are looking for a casual lunch or a five stars experience you are guaranteed to find it up on the top of Vail Mountain.
Lunch at the 10th
Located by the top of Gondola One The 10th is the newest on mountain restaurant in Vail. During the summer months the restaurant serves lunch every weekend Friday to Sunday from 11am to 3pm. The beautiful views of the Gore Range serve as the perfect backdrop to one of the best upscale lunch spots in the valley. The menu in The 10th is a refined combination of French, Swiss, Italian and Rocky Mountain alpine cuisine, with classics such as the Colorado Striped Bass, the Porchini Scented Quail or the Lobster Raviolis. The resturant features a lounge are and a cozy bar offering specialty beers from local breweries and craft cocktails.
Family Friendly Dining
At the top of Eagle Bahn Gondola is located Bistro Fourteen, the most popular on mountain dining destination. As the name suggests this restaurant offers incredible views to the Mount of the Holy Cross — the tallest peak in Eagle county. In the summer Bistro Fourteen is open daily for lunch starting at 11am to 3pm and on Friday and Saturday the restaurant serves dinner as well. Bistro Fourteen has a great variety of classic american favorites and a full kids menu, which makes it the perfect spot for lunch during a day filled with mountain adventures. The restaurant also features a great patio seating and live music. The famous Friday Afternoon Club starts at 4pm and goes on until 6pm, creating a great atmosphere with live music and food and drink special. For more great fun stop by for Saturday Sundown, which takes place during the same time and has its own menu of specials.
Game Creek Club
Nestled just below Eagle’s Nest and just above the Game Creek chair lift, Game Creek Restaurant is a truly unique location where guests can enjoy a gourmet dinner and an exceptional dining experience while overlooking the beautiful Game Creek Bowl. Game Creek Restaurant offers a delectable, five-star, distinctive American cuisine, an award-winning wine list and superior customer service. This breathtaking European chalet-style restaurant is accessible only by taking a 4-wheel drive shuttle. During the summer months the restaurant is open Thursday trough Saturday for dinner and Sundays from 11am to 2pm for brunch.
